It is this kind of love… when one wishes to love more than to be loved! It makes you drunk as a mature red wine aged in top quality oak barrels… 

Tonino Guerra adored his wife Laura and never gave her shopworn presents… He presented her with antique potsherds, Etruscan beads, antique Venetian glass, lyrics, words, air, aromas…

Tonino Guerra was born on March 16, 1920, and he died a mature and happy human on March 21, 2012!

Same year the United Nations Organisation established The International Day of Happiness, which is celebrated throughout the world on the 20th of March to support the idea that human pursuit of happiness is a common feeling for all people in the world and one of our basic purposes in life…  It is time of the Vernal Equinox, when, on the whole Earth, day and night are nearly of the same length, i.e. they are equal... Thus the founders of this global celebration wanted to emphasize that the people of the whole planet have the same opportunities to be happy...
In addition, The Institute of the Sun suggested that on this occasion people presented each other with immaterial presents, like sunrises and sunsets, brilliants of dew, trills of raindrops…

There is also another connection between this canvas and the Italian concentration camp survivor, poet, writer and screenwriter… The painting, as it turned out, was finished exactly on the day of Tonino Guerra's death…
